Is a rollator reimbursed through the Wmo or health insurance? (Netherlands)
In the Netherlands, simple walking aids such as rollators are not part of the basic health insurance package and are usually not provided by the municipality (Wmo) either. The government considers them ‘generally customary aids’ that people buy themselves.
For a premium aid such as the Trionic Veloped or Walker there are two common routes: buying it yourself, or paying with a personal budget (PGB). In special situations, with clear medical justification, a municipality may still offer a tailored provision, and some supplementary insurance policies provide partial reimbursement.
The rules can differ per municipality and per year; always check your situation with your own municipality.
