Why does the 3-legged folding stool have such high maximum weight capacities?

One of the first groups, the comfort folding stool, was designed for electricians, service technicians, and other skilled workers. These professionals needed a lightweight, compact, and durable stool they could carry in their tool bags and use daily on job sites.

Another reason folding stools’ high maximum weight capacities are so important is that they give the user confidence. Most folding stools have a maximum weight capacity of only around 100 kg (200–225 lbs). When these lower-capacity stools are tested, the tests are typically conducted indoors on flat, level, and unobstructed surfaces. However, when used in real-world conditions—on uneven or soft ground—these stools often fail.

The main reason is that on any three-legged stool placed on an uneven or soft surface, two of the legs end up supporting most of the user’s weight. Because the weight is not evenly distributed, stools that are not built to withstand this imbalance will eventually break. Walkstool is explicitly designed to withstand these real-world loads, which is why its weight capacities are significantly higher and why users can trust its durability in challenging environments.
