Veloped User Guide

Trionic Veloped

The Veloped has a unique 3-wheel design, but as you can see it has in fact four wheels. It’s aimed to be used as a walking aid, especially for people with the desire to be physically active outdoors. Developed with a focus on walking and facilitating access for the user, the Veloped is one of a kind. Its main characteristic is a dual front wheel with the capacity to overcome obstacles up to 15 cm high (14" wheels). The force required to overcome a smaller obstacle is also greatly reduced, when compared to a traditional wheel.

The Veloped is tested and approved according to the international standard ISO-11199-2:2005, for a maximum user weight of 150 kg.

Safety

  • Both brakes should be locked in parking mode before you use the seat.
  • Before you start walking with the Veloped, make sure it’s completely unfolded.
  • Be extra careful in steep terrain and on slanting ground.
  • The stability of the Veloped is tested with a basket load of 5 kg. If you load additional weight to the basket, make sure to distribute the weight evenly in the basket.

Correct Grip Height

How to set the correct height of your Veloped

How to set the correct height of your Veloped

Many rollator users set the grips too high, thinking that it will promote a more upright posture. But this actually worsens the posture, and it affects the stability negatively.

You can determine the correct Veloped grip height by doing as follows, as recommended by all physiotherapists and all rollator manufacturers:

  1. Stand upright with your back as straight as possible, with your shoes on and with your arms hanging in a relaxed state along your body (elbow slightly bent).
  2. Measure the vertical distance from the floor to the wrist bone = recommended grip height.

With the grips at wrist height:

  • You do not have to raise your shoulders, and you can unload a greater part of your body weight.
  • You can walk closer to the hand grips, which results in a more upright body posture.
  • A more vertical weight distribution (downwards) improves both the stability and the brake performance.

Saw your ad in DN and thought...
Saw your ad in DN and thought that the walker had to be seen in person. I was pleasantly surprised by your response and all the information I received and now I am the owner of the Rolls Royce of walkers. It looks heavy but it is light as a feather. I am very happy!!!

The best Christmas present
Thank you for receiving my Veloped. I had high expectations after reading the very inspiring material on the website. But the reality surpasses your descriptions many times over, it is simply incomparable. Now I am revisiting the familiar forest paths that I have walked for the past 40 years, the Veloped can even handle very difficult terrain, everything that my old walker could not. Now the forest is my fitness center again, and the Christmas spirit has set in!
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
Many kind regards from
Lars Jensen

Simply superb!
I have the Veloped 12 M and I'm extremely happy with it. I have muscular dystrophy, so walking is pure hell for me. We live in the countryside – country lanes, woods, and our garden are our home. Unfortunately, this is almost impossible for me with a "normal" rollator. Thanks to the Veloped, almost nothing is impossible anymore, and I can enjoy our large garden and many outdoor activities. I highly recommend it. Even our cat Garfield appreciates the Veloped (see photo) ????

difficult to get on the bus and over several steps
I'm actually having trouble getting on and off the bus. I have to back onto the bus myself, lift the Trionic, and pull it in. Similarly, I have to back off the bus and lift the Trionic out. I thought I could push the Veloped down by the handles so the front would lift up, and then I could push it onto the bus and get on. Maybe that would work. But I can't manage it.

My Veloped allows me to walk safely :-)
I purchased a Veloped at the end of August after thoroughly researching the market.

It was delivered to me at the very beginning of September.

It allows me to walk safely, which I greatly appreciate (especially since I considered a wheelchair); my physiotherapist even told me I walk better than with my previous aid!

Furthermore, Stefan Kindberg has so far answered all my questions thoroughly and in record time remotely :-)

My life has changed.
I cannot thank you all enough for my new Veloped Tour. It has opened up many things which I have been unable to do for the past 2 years. The main thing being country walks & trails, walking more than 3-4 kilometres which may not seem a lot but not being able to do it for a couple of years has been a relevation for me. I have also travelled to Iceland & Spain in the last couple of months and it has enabled to me walk again on rough rerrain.

. I’ve had many comments of where did I purchase it from. Why do you not advertise more widely in UK. I have had
many comments where did I get it from. My qzuestion to you is why do you not advertise more in the UK. It was only. by chance my husband noticed your advert in the Daily Mail way back in May. I was very dubious that I couldn’t see on before I bought it.
Stefan put my mind at rest telling me I had 14days to trial it, if I didn’t get on with it I could return it. Your customer service was excellent.
I’m looking forward to spending more times country walking etc.
Thank you
Best wishes
Linda Johnson.

The Veloped – an ingenious device – we love it!
After our 86-year-old mother's walking radius decreased due to unsteady gait, and she could only move around outside the home with an escort, she considered – albeit very ambivalently – a mobility aid. A "regular" walker was out of the question for her – she had seen many people who were more likely to "hang" behind a walker and who reached the limits of such a "regular" walker on every bump or curb.

When I, as my daughter, discovered the Veloped, I immediately knew our search was over – we wanted exactly this device! – and ordered it directly from Trionic in Uppsala. Delivery was very prompt and traceable at all times via UPS. The sturdy packaging "exuded quality," and the assembly was also very quick and easy – even supported by a video. The customer service I contacted about a question responded very quickly and easily, and we felt and still feel very well looked after.

From the very first moment, our mother had her "Velo" under control; everything runs very smoothly, and in every detail – visually and haptically – you can feel the quality of the workmanship and the well-thought-out functionality.
Our mother was often asked about the cool design of the Veloped and the construction of the climbing bike with great interest and admiration. The difference to a "normal" walker is immediately obvious, and through training, her walking stability has already improved.

For our mother and for us as a family, the Veloped is simply a "game changer"! The "Velo" brings joy and quality of life!
In another review, we read the term "freedom machine," and that's exactly what it is! Finally, our mother can move around outside completely independently again, run her errands, take a walk with our father through the Rhine promenade, and simply enjoy nature. The Veloped plows through curbs, gravel, and grass with ease. And loading it into the car is also a breeze.

We highly recommend this fantastic Veloped!
Thank you very much, dear Trionic team!

Veloped Tour 12er
I'm very happy with the rollator after the wheels were replaced. It's very easy to use on bad roads and paths. Sidewalks and similar obstacles are no longer a problem either. This is especially true when I only use one front wheel. It's difficult for me when both front wheels are down. Then the rollator is very hard to steer. I can't really make tight turns with it, for example when using traffic lights or when I want to cross the street. It's also difficult when shopping in supermarkets. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I would be grateful for some advice.

From the neighbor to your own Veloped
Saw it at my neighbor's house and bought it because I was impressed by every aspect. It looks great, handles well (the brakes and function)—which is difficult to grasp for someone with dementia (in our case), but otherwise the brakes work perfectly. The seat is a bit high, but sufficient for a short break. The overall quality makes a high impression. Overall, we are very satisfied.

A real all terrain walker
I have finally found the perfect wheeled walker! The Trionic Veloped Tour 14er M. It is adjustable to be tall enough for me, which make a nice change, I am 6 foot and in the past walkers have felt too low, what totally blew me away was being able to walk my dog over the fields and through the woods without having to ask anyone to help lift the walker over roots, sticks or boggy areas, the Veloped with the all terrain wheel lowered just ploughs on through. The basket is perfect for putting all the bits I need to take with me and I recommend getting a bottle holder as it is perfect for holding either my water bottle or the dogs. I would have like some kind of retaining clip which could hold the two sides together when closed up, the slightest of movements and it will start to open which is a pain when trying to hoisting it into my car or if it needs to be moved out of the way in the house, I love how easy it is to remove and then refit the wheels and they are not heavy either. That being my only negative means I happily recommend the Velopped tour, it really is an all terrain walker.

I've had the Veloped since November 2023...
I've had the Veloped Tour since November 2023. It's so great for me to be able to participate in life again. I've been undergoing immunotherapy for three years, which has weakened my muscles. But by walking with the Velped, I can compensate for a lot. The Velped is also very versatile: in everyday life, walking across meadows, across gravel, along the beach, etc.

What was and still is a huge help to me is that I got the Veloped directly from Uppsala and received very good advice, and you can always ask questions. The staff there are very helpful.

So, I would buy the Veloped again and again.
Here in Northern Germany, it's also admired.

Best regards,
Angela Schmidt

I’ve worked in the care industry till…
I’ve worked in the care industry till my retirement and have always been wary of walkers as they often look so unstable. All that changes when I spotted a Veloped in a magazine and started my research. I purchased my Veloped and have nothing but joy from it, now able to undertake longer walks without having to worry about being able to sit or what I can carry. This miracle can carry a full weeks shopping, move numerous books around the town with ease and is the wonder of all who see it. I live in a tourist area and am often stopped by strangers asking how I’ve found it and trying it out including Occupational Therapists, so much so I’ve volunteered as an Ambassador. I cannot recommend Trionic highly enough.

The Veloped is a machine for living
The Veloped is a machine for living. I'm sure that nearly every Vellie owner will tell you that this beautiful creature gave them back a quality of life they thought they'd lost forever. It restores possibilities, confidence, freedom itself. It sparks joy in otherwise joyless, introverted days. It becomes an indispensable part of one's life. You learn to use it, then to trust it, and then you come to love it.

If many answers resemble each other, it's not plagiarism. It's our common experience.

Walking and working outdoors
My 14er is perfect, at 79 overweight with bone on bone knees, torn ACL my Veloped is a blessing. I have been out in the field repairing my fences and doing other tasks that I could not do without much difficulty when using other walkers. I do not have to struggle getting there, my 14er is a workhorse a rolling tool box, I have used it and abused it and it keeps on giving me the aid I need, I could use a smaller one in the house and that will come when I can afford it. Thank you Trionic for giving me my life back, I hope to try to wear my 14er out, but as well as it is made I doubt I will accomplish that.
Thanks, Joe

Good but too wide for us
This seems like a great product, but it was too large for easy manoeuvring in our old, narrow corridors.

So, we returned it. But Trionic handled the return quickly and efficiently. Thanks.

I am very happy with the Veloped Tour
I now enjoy walking again. I walk more safely and don't put as much strain on my joints as with the walking poles. I also cope better with the uneven paths. It's also ideal for shopping.

Essential for urban hiking
So much easier to use than the 12 er. The fact that it can climb most curbs in Boston is nothing short of genius! The 14 inch wheels make on and off-roading such a breeze and a very smooth ride throughout! I go about 7 miles a day on my Veloped, and I’m so thankful for the design, endurance, and ease of use. Taking the wheels on and off is kind of fun once you get the hang of it, and fits in most cars pretty easily. Thanks for the amazing walker, I’m so grateful!!!

Finally walking again
Since my mom got this walker, she's been going for walks again. It was one of the best investments she's ever made for her health. She's happy every time someone asks her about her walker and her range has expanded many times over.
As a daughter, I'm totally happy with what I'm experiencing.
