Is great to drive, but it is sometimes difficult to use

Rating:

My father (79 years old) has become severely visually impaired after a stroke and, unfortunately, has a disturbance in the perception on the left half of his body. He is very happy driving the Walker, thanks to the very large tires, and he also likes its elegant look. Although he rarely goes out when there is little light, I like that, thanks to the many reflectors, he is well visible in the dark.

He already had an outdoor model with the Dietz Taima XC, but he had had problems with the wobbly front wheels...

The driving characteristics of the Walker deserve five stars or even more. From my father's point of view, however, I must report that there are potential improvements for users with limitations.

For example, it happened that, while lifting the walker, it folded slightly on itself and the strap between the front wheels also came off. Fortunately, a passer-by was able to give him a hand.

Even using the parking brake is a problem for my father. I must continually re-explain to him how to use the little red lever.

The handles are not completely fixed, so they often tend to move slightly inwards or outwards.

At these points, unfortunately, the Walker lags behind conventional models. There is still room for improvement. A clearly audible click or a signal would help to figure out when the rollator is properly folded and when it is ready to be driven.

  • My Veloped makes me safe…

Great to be able to take brisk walks with my Veloped in the green area close to my neighborhood. To get there, I pass street crossings, where the Veloped smoothly climbs up and down the curbs. Since the Veloped is easy to "fold" and load in the trunk…

Based on my excellent experience with the Veloped, I also bought the Walker for my mother to use in the city. So far, my mother is completely satisfied with both mobility aids. Both walkers are robust, well-designed and make a very good impression.
